Canon 450D (Digital Rebel XSi) Modification

Gary Honis has posted a skilful article detailing his step-by-progression modification of his Canon 450D (Digital Rise up defy XSI).

This do-it-yourself modification replaces the original sustained-wavelength filter in front of the sensor with a UV-IR screen that allows the important hydrogen-alpha wavelengths to behind the times that are critical for imaging red emission nebulae.

Note that modifying your camera like this voids the producer’s warranty!
